Recently, I wrote a short story called "The Day the Monsters Didn't Eat My Sister." The narrator is a guy recalling how, when they were young, his little sister followed him everywhere until one day he told her to get lost and--she did. That one felt like it needed to be told in his words. Generally, though, I prefer third-person both as a writer and as a reader. Also, like you, I LOVE dialogue.

Jennifer, if you get a chance, please check out my other blog, "Whispers of a Banshee Weaver." I'm introducing characters from my fantasy novel by having them talk on the blog. I did a series of interviews with one character, a banshee. Now I'm introducing her sister and doing it a little differently by having her write the blog for a bit rather than be interviewed. So, per force, I'm going to be writing her "posts" in first person. The first one isn't terribly impressive as it's her just saying hi, this is who I am and what I'll be doing, but she will start telling stories next week. The best part of yesterday's post (if I do say so myself) is the picture, which I did on Paint. No, it's not GREAT artwork, but I do like the way the lighting and the colors turned out and it gets the job done. So if you think about it one of these days, I would love it if you would check the blog out and give me feedback.
